SLS Professional Learning Programme 2019-2020

School Leaders Scotland is the prime provider of leadership specific professional learning in Scotland.  The quality of our programme has been established over the past 15 years and is both recognised and accredited nationally.

Our programme has, since October 2016, been accredited by the Scottish College for Educational Leadership.

In September of 2019 our programme was awarded General Teaching Council Scotland’s Professional Learning Award for Organisations.  In their evaluation of our professional learning programme GTCS identified the following key features:

  • SLS clearly listens to its members and is highly responsive to the current needs of its members.
  • The professional learning programme strongly influences participants to take their learning further, facilitating opportunities for networking and collaboration.
  • SLS influences current policy and contributes to the wider landscape of Scottish Education. It actively seeks to engage with partners in education and beyond.
  • SLS offers signposts for next steps in career long professional learning.

The SLS professional learning programme is responsive to the identified professional needs of members and the demands placed on them by national and local government initiatives.  High level input to all our events comes from our wide range of partners within and beyond Scottish Education.  This is supported, enhanced exemplified by input from current school leaders.
