Why Join?

As a school leader you need information that’s relevant to your role as a senior leader. Because SLS only represents leaders of secondary schools, all our work is focused on the sector, from financial management to understanding the latest government guidelines. We’ll give you the professional support and guidance you need and you can also be assured of the best trade union support should things ever go wrong. Our membership numbers continue to grow as more leaders recognise the benefits of joining an association that so clearly addresses their needs. Can you afford not to join us?

Are there any incentives?

The current rates are shown below.  Following the AGM in November 2020 it was agreed that from 1st February each year they may increase slightly.  All existing Direct Debits will change automatically. For those members currently on reduced membership fees they will continue at this rate until the end of your incentive.

If you are looking to join the Association for the first time, you will receive half price fees until 31st December 2024 plus a £25 M&S voucher on joining.    HEADTEACHERS – £18.50 Per Month. Depute Headteacher- £14.30 Per Month. Faculty Heads / Principal Teachers / Bursars / Business Managers – £10.55 Per Month until 31 December 2024.   The current full charge: Heads – Annual £446.40 Monthly £37.20,  Deputes – Annual £343.80 Monthly £28.65, Faculty Head / Principal Teacher / Bursar / Business Manager – Annual £253.20 Monthly £21.10.
