SLS Support Services
Current demographics are determining that a great deal of valuable experience is leaving the world of education at a time when major change is taking place. School Leaders Scotland has arranged that this pool of invaluable experience need not be lost to the profession by establishing SLS Support Services.
What are we offering?
Support, advice and objectivity provided by experienced, recently retired Headteachers and Depute Headteachers .
- Coaching & Mentoring (of new HTs and DHTs)
- Advice on Management Restructuring
- Pre/Post HMIe Inspection support
- Support and advice on Self Evaluation
- Post formal procedures support
- Support on the full range of school management issues
- Timetabling support and advice
- Support and advice on school mergers
- Support and advice on Child Protection issues
- Support and advice on moving to a new school
- Advice and support on Leadership issues
To whom?
Local Authorities/Individual schools/ individuals
On what sort of terms would Support Services Operate? Costs involved. Local Authorities would always be informed of involvement with individual school or individuals within a school. Provision of professional, independent, objective advice and support from experienced practitioners. Short term, one - off support for individuals or schools would be carried out on the basis of an Consultancy/Administration Fee for SLS and a costs covered/not out of pocket basis for the deliverers. Longer term work carried out for Local Authorities and individual schools would be subject to a day rate (to be determined/negotiated case by case, depending on the nature of the work and the preparation and time involved). Remuneration for those delivering longer term projects would be negotiated with individual deliverers or teams of deliverers on a case by case basis, depending on the nature of the work and the preparation and time involved.
